出展者プロフィール / Exhibitor Outline：Vignobles Vellas is a 4-generation family-business. Nicolas Vellas took the winery over in 1995, he was only 18 years old! He is to be understood as an artist. To him, making wines requires creativity. From the vinification to the labelling, he enjoys doing things as they have never been done before. Thus, tasting Vignobles Vellas’ wines is a whole new experience. As the painter who strives to explore the infinite possibilities offered by colours and lines, Nicolas uses the sunny hillsides of South of France as his canvas and a multitude of vines and terroirs as his palette to draw his masterpieces. He has grown his winery to 14 estates spreading over 340 ha of vines to develop a wide array of typicity for his wines. Pic Saint Loup, Terrasses du Larzac, Faugères, Costières de Nîmes, Cahors, Maury, Saint Chinian, Saint Guilhem-le-Désert and, more recently, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the possibilities of creation are infinite.

We selected this grape because of the elegant expression of aromas and special taste easy to love and remember. The idea of MAX LION comes from the ancient legent of Percey and Meduse. Lion is accociated with the most powerfull of its kind, as this wine, but nothing can resist to the attraction of Medusa.
TASTING NOTES
Elegant and captivating wine with nice transparent colour and sunny golden brights. White peach and apricot aromas are well presented and
underlined by hints of white flowers.

VINIFICATION
We built up this wine around Grenache because of the pure expression of the fruit and the delicious bouquet of aromas that will bring you to the South of France. MAX LION refers to the legend of Percey and Medusa. The lion is the most powerful of its kind but still can't resist to the eyes of Medusa (our Viognier version), therefore you can see it progressively turning into stone on the label. The label also has a nice stony-sensation on the touch.
TASTING NOTES
Complex and rich with aromas of small red fruits, notes of cherry, light spices, and charming silky tannins. Well-balanced fruity full-bodied wine.

VINIFICATION
Traditional with monitoring of the temperatures then aged for 12 months in French oak barrel.
TASTING NOTES
Intense color with purple hues, its aromatic nose evokes ripe red and black fruits with a final of grilled notes and chocolate. Deep density in the mouth, both velvety and silky. Well integrated tannins provide a long and harmonious finish. Can either be consumed immediately or kept for up to 10 years.

TASTING NOTES
The name of this famous cuvée "Le Petit Chaperon Rouge" literally means "Little Red Riding Hood" as a nod to the appellation itself ("Loup" means "Wolf" in French). This word play also refers to our other Pic Saint Loup "Le Grand Méchant Loup" (the Big Bad Wolf).
Its cute label and shining pink color are greatly appreciated by drinkers. Besides, the nose reflects fresh red fruits notes, sour candies tending to citrus. A round and fresh mouth revealing a highly aromatic powerfulness.

VINIFICATION
A unique wine which had been vinified twice. The already vinified juice from well-ripe grapes is poured a second time on marc from grapes harvested when over ripe. The process aims to increase the quality of the wine by providing it with more color, concentration, extraction, flavors and complex aromas.
TASTING NOTES
Deep purple robe. The nose is dominated by complex aromas of small red and black ripe fruits (blackberry, plum) as well as spicy notes. The mouth gives strong sensations ! It coats the palate nicely through its concentration, wealthiness and complexity. Tannins are velvety and toned down by the fruits. The oak gives nice smoky notes which is why we nicknamed it “cigar wine”. Its complex long finish is superb.

VINIFICATION
This wine comes from our family history but use the techniques of our time. Nicolas Vellas, the winemaker vinifies the white grape the same way as for black grapes keeping skin contact before filtering and ageing in French oak barrel for a few months.
TASTING NOTES
A clear and bright color with orange hues. It’s a savory wine, intense and aromatic. Citrus notes are dominating in the nose, followed by white stone fruits (peach) and honey. It shows volume and liveliness in the mouth with a fresh finish.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES
Tresor means “treasure” in French. This organic wine comes from
Vellas family estate Mas de Gachon. It is the fruit exploision of
aromas and concentrated tannins.
Original presentation with small golden label fi xed with a stamp
of black wax on the top of the bottle permits to put the wine in the
ice bucket and drink it cold on aperitif.
TASTING NOTES
Bright dark deep colour with purple hues, its aromatic nose evokes
red fruits with notes of fl owers given by southern Viognier.
The originality of the blend of red Syrah and white Viognier
makes this wine very soft and elegant at the time.
Organic nature recalls the aromas of fresh wind
from the vineyards.

Flanked by limestone cliff s, with optimal sunlight exposure and
light winds, these soils produce rich, concentrated wines with
elegant notes of ripe dark fruit and hints of spices. The terroir of
Pic Saint Loup is a pride of our region (Grand Cru of Languedoc wines) and favourite soil for Vellas wines. Nicolas created an engraved bottle with Pic Saint Loup mountains and the range of Domaine Garoloup represents the fi ne wine style in its best way. The pictures of wolfs on the label is a glint to the name of the appellation "LOUP" means "WOLF" in french.
VINIFICATION
Traditional vinifi cation in tanks, temperature control at the
beginning of fermentation, long maceration for 30 days with moderate extractions and permanent stirring of the lees. Aging in tanks for 4 to 12 months.

The Petite Sirah grape is the off spring of two French grapes Syrah and Peloursin. Both of the parent varietals come from the Rhone-Alpes region.

TASTING NOTES
Compared to Syrah, Petite Sirah grapes are quite small, and are deeper in color. They produce a dark purple, tooth-staining wine with bold tannins and acidity.
As mentioned earlier, Petite Sirah may be a small grape, but its
flavor is anything but small. A good description of Petite Sirah
wine would be: big, bold and memorable. This wine has a full body
and a mouthfeel that is often described as chewy and intense.It
will perfectly fine Mediterranean tapas, white and red meat, aged

GRAPES
Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre
TERROIR
The vineyard is located close to the Hérault river. A pleasant freshness preserves the grapes and brings balance to the wines made there. Facing south-east, the vineyard is planted in limestone-clay soil, dominated by basalt. A lava-flow of volcanic origin gives the wines its uniqueness.
VINIFICATION
Vatted in concrete tanks using traditional techniques, just as the greatest grands crus classés would be made. The maturation takes place in tanks with a fine lees contact at a perfectly stable temperature.
TASTING NOTES
Very dense, deep-garnet red color with shades of crimson. The prominent notes of Mediterranean black fruits (blueberries & blackberries), hints of laurel, rosemary and liquorice. Subtle and elegant, velvety tannins, round, structured body, good intensity and long length. 8-10 years aging potential.

Clay-Limestone. The estate of Caravettes is located on the foothills of Larzac, 25km away from Montpellier.
VINIFICATION
Chateau de Caravettes is a garage wine (we tried to reflect this fact with this unique label). Vinification is traditional with strict temperature management.
TASTING NOTES
Deep purple color. Intense nose of fruits and forest floor. Rich in the mouth with balanced tannins. Silky finish.
