The many shades of green give the Region its name and the set up for the terroir that gives these wines their personality and unique characteristics.

Demarcated in 1908, the Vinhos Verdes Demarcated Region is today the largest Portuguese Wine Region in total area. Across the 9 sub-regions there is a total of 17.268ha of vineyards which are home for 6.700 economic operators. From Alvarinho, Loureiro and Avesso for the whites, to Vinhão and Alvarelhão for the reds, there are 45 native grape varieties allowed for DO and 67 for GI.

Whites, Reds, Rosés, Sparkling! All these wines reveal the authenticity and diversity of this Demarcated Region, resulting in an annual production of more than 96 million litres with exports to more than 100 countries.
