Our philosophy is focused on seeking the well-being of the more than 400 members who currently make up our winery, this being one of the main economic engines of Alpera, a small town of 2500 inhabitants.
Our commitment to the environment comes through the non-aggressive cultivation of the vineyard, with more than 1000 hectares in certified organic production. Protecting and promoting our native variety, Garnacha Tintorera, is a fundamental part of our philosophy. Santa Cruz de Alpera selects its best vineyards to produce unique wines in Spain, by vinifying, bottling and marketing single-varietal wines of Garnacha Tintorera, using different production techniques.
Young carbonic maceration reds, they are made from whole grapes previously selected in the field.
Preparation of different and spectacular ageing due to the good assembly of a careful selection of barrels with our variety, developing an original and little-known bouquet.

APPELATION OF ORIGIN: D.O. Almansa. Surroundings vineyards of “Parajes del reviejo”.
GRAPE VARIETY: Garnacha Tintorera (100%).
COLOUR: Bright dark cherry red.
NOSE: Typical notes from ripe Garnacha Tintorera; grapefruit, fig tart, blackcurrent, blackberry intertwined with balsamic and smokey notes from the ageing process.
PALATE: The initial sensation is sweet with well balanced acidity and tannins that lengthen the palate. The power of the Garnacha Tintorera can be felt and its torrefactor finish adds extra length. The overall feel is complex and reminds us of fruits of the forest blended with vanilla, coffee and tabacco.
FOOD PAIRING: Ideal to accompany beef, game and strong cured cheeses. The proteins from the meat make a perfect match with the tannins from the wine leading to a wonderful sensation on the palate.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: Consume within 10 years of the harvest at a temperature between 16 and 18ºC.
VINEYARDS: The vineyards used in our wines are selected using a rigorous selection process by our technical team. In search for máximum quality, the selection is based largely on age of vineyard, yield and the general health of the vineyard. For our most Premium wine, great attention to detail is taken care of from budbreak to the harvest. The vineyards are a mínimum of 30 years old. The harvest is done in cases of 200Kgs with a strict selection upon arriving at the winery.
WINEMAKING: Made from our unique local grape “Garnacha Tintorera”. The wine is made using traditional methods with destemming before fermentation in stainless steel tanks with air/nitrogen injection. Fermentation temperature is at around 28ºC with maceration time of up to 10 days.
BARREL AGEING: Malolactic fermentation is undertaken in a selection of new, fine grain American oak barrels of 500l. The wine stays a mínimum of 8 months. A light clarification and cold stabilization finishes the wine.

BARREL AGING: Malolactic fermentation is undertaken in a selection of new, fine grain french oak barrels of 500l. The wine stays a mínimum of 8 months. A light clarification and cold stabilisation finishes the wine before being aged for a mínimum of 14 months in bottle before release.

D.O. Almansa. Surroundings vineyards of “El Retamar” GRAPE VARIETY: Syrah (20%) / Merlot (80%). Grape from organic farming.
COLOUR: Clean and brilliant with a good tear with raspberry pink rose.
BOUQUET: It has medium-high intensity, with a lot of red berries aromas. We can find strawberry yoghurt aroma with some strawberries and raspberries jellybeans notes.
TASTE: It is sweet at the entrance, fresh and balanced with a medium persistence. This is an easy-to-drink wine with a strong fruity character. It is complex at the end with a final that brings all those red fruits.
MATCHING: It is ideal to match with rice, seafood or salads.
TEMPERATURE AND OPTIMAL CONDITIONS: We recommend drinking this wine within 2 years after its production. Its ideal serving temperature is 8ºC.
VINEYARDS: The vineyards are strictly selected by our technicians in order to achieve the best grapes. We control all the processes to get low yield and healthy vines.
PRODUCTION: Wine made from the Syrah and Merlot varieties, the harvest is mechanized and at night, the reason is none other than that the grapes arrive as cold as possible at the winery, avoiding light and high temperatures, protecting the must against oxidation. The fermentation temperature was around 16ºC, this low fermentation temperature makes a greater production of aromas, extending fermentation to 25 days. With ancient production techniques we achieve a wine with a greater sweetness in the mouth and a complexity in the fruit perceived on the nose. Finishing the process with a slight clarification and stabilization. The last step before bottling was an amicrobic filtration to preserve all its organoleptic characteristics.

GRAPE VARIETY: Sauvignon Blanc (100%). Grape from organic farming.
COLOUR: In the Sauvignon blanc white wine you can notice a pale yellow color, very limpid and bright. Its hues can be greenish with golden reflections.
BOUQUET: Its aroma is probably the easiest aspect to recognize. It reminds us of herbaceous smells, grapefruit, tropical fruits, honey, green peppers. Together with its high acidity, it gives us very refreshing and light wines
TASTE: Sweet, fresh and balanced on the entry and has notes of tropical fruits, such as pineapple, banana and guava
MATCHING: It is recommended to pair with rice, seafood and light cheese.
TEMPERATURE AND OPTIMAL CONDITIONS: We recommend drinking this wine within 2 years after its production. Its ideal serving temperature is 8ºC.

PRODUCTION: We obtain the grapes from a mechanical harvest carried out during the night in order to avoid the high temperatures and the light, so we can protect the grape must from oxidation. The fermentation temperature is around 13ºC. That low temperature produces a bigger quantity of aromas. After the fermentation the wine was kept with the lees (on its lees) for three months making a “bâttonage” every week to get a more structured and silky wine which makes it more persistent in the mouth.

GRAPE VARIETY: VErdejo (100%). Grape from organic farming.
COLOUR: Clean and brilliant with a good tear. It has a “new yellow color” with greenish reflections.
BOUQUET: It has medium-high intensity. We can find tropical reminiscences however it is a little bit more citric than conventional wine. An anisette background is also notable.
TASTE: In the mouth entry it is sweet, fresh and well balanced with a medium persistence. It is easy to drink and it has a strong fruity character. The bitter end is typical of the variety Vardejo.
MATCHING: It is recommended to pair with rice, seafood and light cheese.

COLOUR: It is clean and it has red purple color of high intensity.
BOUQUET: It has high aromatic intensity. It brings notes of strawberry yogurt, rapsberry with a banana background which is typical of the carbonic maceration elaboration.
TASTE: In the mouth entry it is sweet, clean and balanced. Its persistence is of medium intensity. It is easy to drink and it has a strong fruity character.
MATCHING: It is ideal to pair with rice, pâté, meat, game and cured cheesed.
TEMPERATURE AND OPTIMAL CONDITIONS: We recommend drinking this wine within 2 years after its elaboration.Its ideal serving temperature is 15ºC.
VINEYARDS: The vineyards for the elaboration of our wines are strictly selected following their age, low productivity and health. The harvest was carried out with 100 kgs cases.We have more than 2000 has to select the best grapes of every vintage.
PRODUCTION: It has been made from our native variety, the Garnacha Tintorera, which gives to our wines singularity as well as color and structure. The vinification is carried out by carbonic maceration to obtain a young wine with a very good aromatic intensity, of fast consumption which is pleasant to drink after the first months of its bottling.It has been fermented to 28ºC with a contact time with entire grape of 8-9 days. Then, it finished the fermentation in concrete tanks to a controlled temperature of 20ºC. After the malolactic fermentation the coupage is made, to finish the process with a light clarification and stabilization by cold. The last step before bottling is an amicrobic filtration to keep all its organoleptic features.
