This wine shouts fruit of the forest conserve on steroids from the glass. Dig deeper and there are the perfumed aromatics of a beautiful cedar sauna which entwine with pot pourri and dried orange peel and a suggestion of complex cola. Wow. On the ridiculously lively palate there is an ultimate kaleidoscope of multiple flavours. This is everything, everywhere all at once. Are you ready?
Production Notes

- Record breaking Spring (2022) rainfall was more than 200% above average in Clare and was the wettest spring on record for the region. Summer rainfall was low, but thanks to the wet spring there was plenty of soil moisture to keep the vines fresh and to support ripening. The 2023 vintage has produced Rieslings with an abundance of intense aromatics, matched with a rich spectrum of flavours and exceptional natural acidity.
The Watervale vineyard the grapes came from are just across the road from the winery used to process the grapes. This resulted in a time of under two hours from when the grapes were picked in the cool of the night to the juice coming out of the press not the tank, so there was minimal skin contact. After fermentation the free run was blended with light pressings. The HO Riesling was bottled on 18th July 2023.
This is citrus on another level. Lemon and lime curd on the nose acknowledges this citrus and introduces a certain hint of richness too. Kaffir lime leaves and sherbet dance with elderflower and pretty white blossom. The beautiful aromas on the nose are replicated on the palate. - 2023 was Australia’s coolest year since 2012. It was a difficult and challenging year in the vineyard for most people, with wet, windy and cool weather. Most regions in South Australia had to deal with avoiding significant problems with diseases such as Downy Mildew and experienced below-average yields.
The mesmerising fragrance flows intoxicatingly from glass. Think the white blossoms of jasmine and jonquils entwined with sweet musk and exotic lychees.

The grapes for this wine have been sourced from the only commercial vineyard in Australia growing Uva di Troia.
A swirling kaleidoscope of fruit flavours. Think white cherries, yellow peaches and strawberries. Floral notes enchant and cheeky red frogs poke their heads up. A gently structural framework gives support for freeze dried raspberries, fresh raspberries, white nectarines all tempered by complexing orange zest. - In 2021 McLaren Vale experienced a wet winter, but also a mild spring and summer going into Vintage 2022. This created superb ripening conditions from fruit set and flowering through verasion and ripening. The resultant wines have an ideal balance of sugar ripeness, natural acidity and texture. The 2022 red wines have intense, rich and balanced flavours and colours, while whites are showing pretty aromatics and natural acidity.
After working for Grand Cru Chateaux Haut Bailly in Bordeaux Charlie came back to McLaren Vale and Wanted to make a F#^K Off Shiraz! All of the viticulture is based on what he learnt from the 5 months living over there. The fruit is all hand-picked by his mates from Adelaide (who drink more than they pick). 85% of the whole bunches are put at the bottom of an oak open fermenter and the rest are whole berries. Inoculated with EC118 (champagne yeast) it is then plunged 4 time per day for 1.2 months. Unoaked, unfined and unfiltered… Ready for you.
On the nose the gorgeous high notes of macerated strawberries together with the slightly earthy deep tones of stewed plums sing from the glass. Delicious glimpses of freshly baked cherry danish and sweet glacé apricots entice. Intense sun kissed strawberries intermingle with dark berry fruits while perfumed dried peaches dance with white pepper and pickled ginger. - In 2021 McLaren Vale experienced a wet winter, but also a mild spring and summer going into Vintage 2022. This created superb ripening conditions from fruit set and flowering through veraison and ripening. The resultant wines have an ideal balance of sugar ripeness, natural acidity and texture.
The SGZ is all about the final blending of three McLaren Vale varieties; Shiraz, Grenache and Zinfandel. After careful consideration of the individual parcels of these wines that were available to Charlie he created this wine with thoughts of the contribution each variety would make to the resultant blend. 40% Shiraz, 20% Grenache and 40% Zinfandel was the magic formula.
This wine has definite purple vibes. From blackcurrants, preserved cherries, plums and dark red roses together with seductive notes of milk chocolate. The palate is blueberries, blackberries with the distinctive flavour of juniper sliding in. Milk chocolate and a gloss of T2 Rose Tea appear and the wine finishes with subtle silky fine delicate tannins. - ブドウ品種 / Grape Variety

Tantalisingly fragrant black currant liqueur and blackberry conserve sing from the glass with suggestions of rum and raisin dark chocolate and the complex aromas of a fruit of the forest Danish. Red berry fruits, especially dehydrated strawberries envelop a core of Chinese 5 spice and high coca content chocolate. The flavours linger seductively.

This wine is a sub-regional blend of several McLaren Vale vineyards.
Production Notes

This Shiraz was sourced from a vineyard located in the gateway to McLaren Vale. The fruit from this vineyard has lovely structure giving solid backbone to the wine with intense mid to back palate presence.
Production Notes

- There were healthy winter rains and plenty of spring rains that set the vines up very well. There was a later than usual start to harvest with long, slow ripening periods resulting in grapes with great depth of flavour. The intermittent summer rains stopped in mid-January, so disease pressure was low. It was very dry from February to April, with only a few millimetres of rain. Days were mild with a lot of cool nights. Overall it was a great vintage with minimal disease pressure and above average crop levels.
I fermented the wine in traditional open fermenter and used gentle cap management techniques. I put the pressed wine into 100% new French hoggies for about 24 months. I haven’t fined or filtered the wine.
The first thought that goes through your head is that this wine smells very grown up. The nose takes you on a dark and enticing path to voluptuous dark berry fruit shrouded with a fine gossamer of gently smoky spice. Gorgeous sweet tannins coat the mouth complementing perfectly the dark fragrantly spiced rich berry fruit. A very grown up wine indeed. - ブドウ品種 / Grape Variety

- This party animal is made by 100% whole bunch carbonnique maceration which creates lifted fruity aromatics – fruits of the forest, balsamic strawberries and purple jubes. - This is a mid strength shiraz but that doesn’t mean it has lost its beautiful McLaren Vale fruit. The nose is all mulberries, black grapes and maraschino cherries and hidden amongst the fruit are inviting aromas of iced blueberry Danish and fruit of the forest icecream. The palate is light but saturated in all things cherry. Stewed cherries, maraschino cherries and Iranian sour cherries all make for a very easy drinking wine.

- The 2022 Cloudy but Fine Chardonnay is made with high quality A graded fruit from a low yielding vineyard in the Adelaide Hills Lenswood GI. Hand picked fruit is left on skins for 4 hours before pressing on a slow champagne cycle (4hours). Wild fermentation in 100% New French oak using 6 different cooperages and left on lees un-sulphured for 9 months. Charlie stopped the winemaking process of stabilising the wine because it tasted so awesome he didn’t want the wines gorgeous notes to be lost. This is why the wine looks cloudy. Cloudy but Fine.
Such beautiful notes of ripe Candy Melon and the slightly minerally aromas of tinned apricots dance with perfumed freshly picked lemons, orange blossom and geranium.
