出展者プロフィール / Exhibitor Outline： Viñas Murillo winery is a family-run winery founded in 2018 by the siblings Alfonso and José Antonio García Murillo, as tribute to their grandfather.

Vinegrowers since they were kids, have been growing and taking care of the vineyards that were planted by their grandfather.


The experience that this family tradition of several generations has given us, nowadays joins the most innovative technology for the elaboration of our Verdejo grapes. We always seek excellence so that our wines have the highest quality and personality.

Wines with personality, elaborated from pre-phylloxera vineyards on sandy soils that combined with the extreme continental climate provide short but high quality harvests.

Harvesting is mostly a night process, helping to maintain throughout the development the properties of the grape.At Viñas Murillo we work to maintain and recover centenarian vineyards that were not destroyed by phylloxera, in a land of privileged soils and an extreme climate that marks the character of the ancestral and authentic Verdejo.

Between seas of pine forests located in the Valladolid countryside, the vineyards root on sandy soils and slate languages. They are unfertile soils that force strains to do their best in extreme climatic conditions. Old grapes with strains of almost two centuries of age and that have seen several generations of wine growers pass. Our work is to immortalize that inheritance obtaining a fruit that lasts in memory.

WHY this natural resistance to phylloxera?
Sandy matrix
Most of our vineyards in Alcazarén and its surroundings are rooted in sandy matrix soils. The land of pine forests becomes not only a geographical reference, but also a capital characteristic for the historical preservation of the vines that grew here.

A natural defense
This was decisive to the fact that the phylloxera plague at the end of the 19th century barely affected the Alcazarén vineyard: the insect's larvae cannot thrive in the texture of sand. Thanks to this natural defense, today we find here free-standing vines, that is, prior to phylloxera.
